PSG introduces a new Movex Self Priming Pump
Blackmer's eccentric disc pump - Mouvex Technology, is used in an array of applications across the globe. It has many unique features giving it many advantages over competing pump lines. There are no mechanical seals thus eliminating leaks and reducing maintenance time. The eccentric disc pumps are direct coupled to the gear reduction unit or motor therefore eliminating the need for magnets. With its clean-in-place capability, flushing and cleaning take place without disassembly. With the recommendation of the EHEDG(European Hygenic Equipment Design Group) and a 3A approval certification the stainless steel models are ideal for sanitary applications.
The unique eccentric disc concept provides gentle handling and high-volume efficiency. The following applications use the Mouvex technology eccentric disc design:
- Chemicals
- Food
- Pharmaceuticals
- Cosmetics
- Agrochemicals
- Petrochemicals
The eccentric disc pumps – Mouvex technology are capable of handling fluids of kinetic viscosity of
3000 cst (14,000 ssu) inside the pump and working pressures of 5-9 Bar (72.5-130psi). Flow rates range from 0.11 m3h (0.5 GPM) to 36 m3h (160 GPM).
Its construction consists of either stainless steel or ductile iron and is rated to 100 up to 150°C (212 up to 302 °F). This technology provides extraordinary self priming and may run dry for a short period of time. Additionally, eccentric disc pumps are very low shear for shear sensitive liquids such as sauces, silicon emulsions, cosmetics, food, etc. Performance tests show shear rates lower than circumferential piston pumps, lobe and gear pumps. The patented design provides unique parts and operating characteristics.

Anderson Pump & Process proudly announces our new partnership with PeopleFlo Manufacturing
Why are zero-leakage chemical process pumps, that lower operating costs and
eliminateenvironmental costs, so complicated, so expensive, and therefore so uncommon?
Inspired by these questions, PeopleFlo Manufacturing was founded in 2004 in Chicago to design and manufacture EnviroGear®, a zero-leak pump for customers in the chemical, petrochemical and food processing markets. EnviroGear is uniquely designed to enable customers to reduce operating costs and eliminate environmental costs for a more affordable up-front investment.

Grand Rapids, MI –
In an effort to visually demonstrate how positive-displacement pumps
that feature sliding-vane technology are able to capably handle
liquids of varying viscosities, Blackmer has created a “Viscosity
Video” for distributor use. The premise of the video is that while
Blackmer’s patented sliding-vane technology is well-regarded for its
ability to effectively move low-viscosity, thin fluids, the
versatile design of sliding-vane pumps also make them ideal for
moving liquids with viscosities in the range of 50,000 SSU and
higher.
At the conclusion, the
video shows that the superior mechanical performance of Blackmer
sliding-vane technology results in exceptional mechanical
performance and 24% greater energy efficiency when compared to gear
pumps. Vane technology also performs very effectively in moving
high-viscosity liquids at both high and low speeds. In addition, the
sliding-vane design delivers superior suction lift and
line-stripping capabilities while eliminating the energy-robbing
slip and capacity loss that are associated with gear and lobe pumps.
5-27-2009 A
key component of any manufacturing operation is its pumping systems,
and while they are a necessary part of the supply chain, they are
often the cause of increased energy costs due to poor design and
improper operation. With that in mind, Blackmer® has created its Smart Energy
Program to emphasize the ability of its positive-displacement
sliding-vane pumps to improve the energy efficiency of plants where
pump systems are in operation. To illustrate this point, Blackmer
has provided the following white paper that explains how the United
States Energy Policy Act of 2005 has had a direct effect on pump
users and manufacturers. The
white paper recently appeared in the February 2009 issue of
World Pumps
magazine. To read the published version of the white paper,

BLACKMER SLIDING-VANE
“VISCOSITY VIDEO” NOW AVAILABLE
The video spells this out in three distinct sections:
• A review of basic vane-technology principles with a comparison to
the less effective principles found in gear pumps
• A visual overview of the various viscosity ranges that Blackmer
sliding-vane pumps can handle, from low-viscosity, thin liquids (30
SSU) such as LPG and light fuel oils to high-viscosity liquids
(45,000 SSU, or greater) such as heavy motor oil
• A visual demonstration of the effectiveness of vane technology in
pumping high-viscosity liquids

Provisions in Energy Policy Act of 2005 Create Opportunities For
Pump Manufactures to Help Increase Energy Efficiency
When considering the day-to-day operations of the nation’s
manufacturing sector, it appears the goals of management are at
cross-purposes with the realities of the world at large. Namely,
energy and utility costs continue to rise, while management demands
that greater cost controls be put into place in an attempt to ensure
profitability. An added element to the story is the pressure being
exerted by outside forces for operations that satisfy new
environmentally friendly (and often costly) “green” initiatives.
